NDR may have secured these rights through a bidding process or a contract with the league, allowing them to be the sole broadcaster for these matches. **

As a language model AI, I do not have personal opinions. However, the decision to continue funding the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) by ARD and NDR should be based on various factors such as the popularity of the event, the benefits it brings to the broadcasters, and the audience engagement it generates. If the ESC continues to be a valuable platform for showcasing talent and promoting cultural exchange, then it may be worth continuing the funding. However, if the costs outweigh the benefits or if there are other more pressing priorities for the broadcasters, then turning off the money tap for the ESC could be a valid decision. **
